Read MoreAfter years of years of great success Basement Jaxx have been touring some of the smaller venues and festivals of recent months. I shot these guys at Southampton SoundClash in September and again this month at Halo Bournemouth.
Halo is the perfect place to house such a great duo. A night of KishKash, Peace love and unity, while the crowd definitely lost their heads!
Thank you to event organisers at Halo Bournemouth for allowing me to pop down with AAA access.
The time is here, for another great instalment of my favourite trance brand. REMEDY run by my good friend Andy Parker has gone from one success to another. This Autumns round up sees the incredible Eddie Halliwell returning after 5 years, DJ'ing for the Slinky brand way-back-when.
John O'Callaghan also returning to the O2 Academy after being away for I think 3 or 4 years. I think one of the best photos Ive ever taken was of John in a perfect 'God is a DJ' pose on stage performing at Slinky in 2011.
I will let the photos do the talking as we all know thats why your here ;) I will end on saying I really enjoyed Giuseppe Ottaviano and Sky Patrol in the early hours of this morning. Not seeing these guys before was a real treat as Giuseppe's set was live.
BESTIVAL, The time has come I'm a bit late posting this as its been a busy September however the blog updates MUST continue! Some of my Bestival work has added to my Music Portfolio and Previous works, but this just lists a few of my favourites.
This years I was shooting for a main travel partner in helping this awesome festival continue its success. Wightlink Ferries helps promote through competitions, Photo coverage as well as video from each of the 4 days.
Some massive acts again this year brought to you by Rob Da Bank and Josie. Missy Elliott's first UK appearance in 6 years provided a new sound to the main stage. Not forgetting the classics Duran Duran and the electronic duo The Chemical Brothers.
Weather fortunately turned out to pretty good and the only rain that we had was on the Sunday, and my god did the heavens open! Luckily it came just after Missy Elliott had closed and the fireworks despite being somewhat staggered due to the weather went up and looked amazing!!
Heres some of my snaps from this year!

This years CampBestival hosted an impressive line up, with The likes of Mr Tumble... Jokes, but seriously he was pretty ace, there was confetti and everything! The Castle stage was hosted by Saturday night headline act Kaiser Chiefs, Ella Eyre, George the Poet, DJ Underworld, Clean Bandit, Wretch 32 along with many other fabulous artists.
Unfortunately I couldn't stick around much over the weekend as I was knee deep in weddings however I did shoot a few artists on Saturday and captured a bit of the magic. This festival breads so much positive energy its definitely worth a look in. Even if your not a kid, this festival has loads to do and see that adults and teens will still find interesting and fun to watch.
Think my favourite part of this weekend was seeing some of the horses from Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. The riders and horses were incredible and so majestic!
Heres a few shots for you guys
Thanks for looking,
JB
Sitting at my desk editing this evening, and for the past week or so has reminded me of where my music love and interest began. It all started with Rock despite my interests and previous work in EDM, Trance that sort of corner. My love has always been for bands like Disturbed, SOiL, Static X, and A Perfect Circle. So to remember my roots I thought id do a little post on some of the rock bands I've shot. Also from a photography perspective, its safe to say that they can be some of the challenging 3 songs you can get behind the camera. The hardest I've ever had to work was actually for The Prodigy at this years Isle of Wight. It was raining hard, I had a rain cover but had lost my eye cup so couldn't fix my weather gear to be able to see through the viewfinder. The Prodigy move around and use lighting that makes them almost impossible to shoot. I know now what my friends in the industry talk about, when they say Prodigy are a pretty good challenge.
However... We Like Challenges ;)
Tonight I covered a friend of mines night at Halo Bournemouth, for those who don't know Halo it used to be V or LandMark years back. Halo is a super modern high profile niche club in the centre of Bournemouth. Super high ceilings and incredible acoustics from its sheer size and well places speaker systems make watching a DJ or act is a real treat. Last night was all about the Real Brothers. I hadn't shot these guys before and was really, majorly impressed! The music was amazing, some great House music projected out and the time was a taken to make the drops special and memorable for the crowd. Fire Performer and friend of mine Dan Sheva Phillips from Candi also showing some mad skills, and by far one of my favourite fire performers!
Photos below, enjoy!

Bestival is on its way! I was going to wait until after to post but couldn't wait to mention it. This will be another great experience, shooting from a different publication perspective but (hush hush at the moment) all will be revealed as the festival kicks off.
Bestival is a wonderful festival with lots of colour, hills amazing acts and stages. I think one of my most favourite places to visit, stage wise would have to be the Port I hope to see my friends from AREA51 there this year, as they are some of the best Fire and dance acts I've seen!
We have some headline acts so far, such as Missy Elliot, Duran Duran, and The Chemical Brothers, of course more to follow and I cannot wait to see who we have showing up next!
Im heading down on Thursday afternoon with the car since its all sorted and will hopefully be seeing lots of my Photo-Family from up and down the country.
More to come as the festival starts but its safe to say, IM EXCITED!

This year has been so productive and its only June, my third year shooting this historic festival but first time officially. The Isle of Wight has been stage to so many legends in its time from Jimi Hendrix to this years Fleet Wood Mac. With so many great acts playing at so many new and exciting stages, there was a lot of responsibility to make sure the images we captured were up to a very high standard and captured the essence of what the festival stands for.
Heres a few images from this year, found on the Isle of Wight Festival website and Facebook page.
"Special thanks to the guys and girls at Dawbell and Solo PR for all your help and buggy runs! Not forgetting the existing Isle of Wight Festival team who were so welcoming. Liz Murray, Callum Baker, Sara Lincoln, Dylan Roberts."
